NFNORTHEASTBLUE

A-List Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning, in support of Neurofibromatosis...

...would like to offer you...10% off your next cleaning and we will double that and donate 20% towards Neurofibromatosis.

The Mission of NF Northeast is to find a treatment and the cure for neurofibromatosis by promoting scientific research, creating awareness, and supporting those who are affected by NF.

What is NF? Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that causes tumors to form on or in the body at any time. NF affects all races, all ethnic groups, and both sexes equally. NF affects more people than Cystic Fibrosis or Muscular Dystrophy combined.

There are three types of neurofibromatosis: NF1, NF2 and Schwannomatosis.

NF1 affects about one in 3,000 people. The NF1 gene is located on chromosome 17.

NF2 affects one in 25,000 people. The NF gene is located on chromosome 22.

Schwannomatosis affects one in 40,000 people.

NF will affect everyone differently. There is no predictable course. Some will have a mild case while others do not. One must be followed closely by specialists who are familiar with the disorder. You must be aware of any changes that can occur. It becomes a "wait and see" process. There is no cure for NF.

Jennifer NF Northeast

The Koutsainis Family;

Our daughter, Jennifer was diagnosed with NF1 when she was 13 months old. Like most people we had never even heard of this. Big word and big scares. Jennifer is doing well and enjoying life as any almost 10 year old should.

There are clinical trials that do seem promising but can take a very long time and can be very expensive and that is why fundraising is so important to us.

Over the years through the help of family and friends we have been able to contribute to helping this cause. And we are forever grateful! We need to continue with our fundraising until there is a CURE! Pleasse consider helping this cause. This is such a great deal...made possible by a local company...you save on cleaning costs and NF Northteast gets that much closer to finding a cure. How can you go wrong!
